Pastor John W.
Cooper, Jr. - D. Div. |
|
|
John W. Cooper, Jr.
was born July 31, 1963 to the proud parents of John Sr. and Barbara Cooper
in Columbus, Ohio. At an
early age, he was seen as an extraordinary child for his demeanor,
compassion, and academic achievement, receiving honors and recognition for
his prowess in scholastic excellence.
At
the age of 6 years, Pastor Cooper recognized the demonstration of God’s
supernatural power that operated through an Ohio Evangelist, and proceeded
to ask God into his life. At this time of conversion, the Lord heard the very thoughts
that Pastor Cooper spoke, then proceeded to |
|
speak through the Evangelist
that “In the days to come, 'Young John' would be a mighty instrument of
the Lord, operating in similar demonstrations of God’s power.” Since that day, Rev. Cooper’s life has never been the same.
During
Pastor Cooper’s formative years as a youth, with the separation and
ultimate divorce of his parents, God continued to grant favor.
At ten years of age, despite the trauma of his mother becoming physically
and permanently disabled. Despite this challenge he
persevered, receiving accolades for his academic
excellence, graduating from high school with honors.
With the challenges of a single parent home, limited income, and
seemingly desperate times, John was taught the value of education and has
since worked to achieve his desired educational goals. Pastor
Cooper has earned an Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering from
Columbus Technical Institute; a Bachelor’s
Degree of Business Administration (BBA) from Mount Vernon Nazarene
College; a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from The University
of Phoenix, and a Diploma of Practical Theology from International
Seminary. He was also honored for his years of ministry service
with an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Saint Thomas Christian
College. |

and ministerial careers include a variety of talents and positions.

Columbus' most notable preachers to include Bishop Sherman
Watkins of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies,

| Vision |
|
New
Beginnings Empowerment Ministries' vision is one that serves
the local body, but envisions a global view. Throughout
scripture, the Lord has used individuals to affect change within a
community of people. Through the use of sound Biblical
instruction, Worship encounters with God, and practical
teachings on vehicles to produce strength and empowerment in
ones daily life, NBEM will accomplish its vision.
To state NBEM's vision in one simple
phrase, or tagline, it would be stated as:
"Empowering People to Walk Into Their
New Day"
However, to capture the complete essence of New Beginnings Empowerment Ministries'
vision, our vision is state as such:
To build and empower a local body of
believers composed of multiple cultures, and various
social-economic backgrounds, to be a catalyst of change to a
global community for the winning of the lost to Christ.

|
| Mission |
|
New
Beginnings Empowerment Ministries' mission is a microcosm of
the macro view that defines the vision. How will the vision
be implemented? Through the actionable tasks for which we
have been charged by the Holy Spirit.
The mission of New Beginnings Empowerment
Ministries is to implement the vision by:
-
Providing systematic teaching and preaching of the Word of God
-
Providing a vehicle of praise and worship that ushers in the
presence of the Lord
-
Providing social, financial, and economic awareness to the local
and global Body of Christ
-
Providing "solutions of ministerial benevolence," and love to
the needy, hopeless, and helpless of the local and global
community
-
Providing education and diversity awareness to varying cultures
and peoples
-
Providing "out of the box" ministry that elevates the mind,
illuminates one's past and present for the future, and
encourages one to advance, for the better, in life until the
return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
